Biography

The Veronicas are Jessica Louise and Lisa Marie Origliasso, Identical Twin Sisters from

 Brisbane Australia.

The twin sisters where born on Christmas Day, 1984 to parents Colleen and Joseph Origliasso.

 The girls grew up in Albany Creek

and Attended Ferny Grove High School and Wavell State High School. 

They are of  Italian decent from there father.

They also have an older brother Julian who is 2 years older.

 Jessica is one minute older than Lisa and is 1 inch taller than Lisa.

Jess and Lisa started singing at five years of age in a Brisbane Based Theatre Company.

When they got to

about 13 years old they started singing lessons and started to co-write with people,

while recording various demos.

 at 18, Jess got a guitar for her birthday and then they  started writing songs together.

 In 2004 the girls were signed

to Warner Bros for an international  record and song writing deal.

From there they have toured the world and released top-selling album

"The secret life of the veronicas". And have just  released  there second album "Hook me Up".

These girls are the ultimate entertainment package.

  • They live with 5 boys, and describe their house as a "party house". Ricky Ullman is one of the

  • The Veronicas say that they are inspired by a lot of modern day mainstream rock like The Used,
  •  My Chemical Romance, Sublime, and Jimmy Eat World.
  • The Veronicas are massive fans of Michael Jackson and The Used.
  • Jess, Lisa, and their mother Colleen have matching tattoos of their 3 initials;
  • Lisa has the initials on her neck along with 3 pink stars, Jess has the initials on her arm
  • along and two swallows on her hips and their mother has the initials on her hips with 1 swallow.

  • They started out when they were real young and studied for 2 years but they admit that they do not remember anything now. They also learned how to play recorder from school but they say they were terrible at that as well and their parents would not allow them to practice because of the noise.
  • Jess and Lisa have admitted to using their 'twin power' to an advantage.

  • Their name came from Archie Comics character Veronica Lodge. When Archie Comics
  • found out, they sued the duo for trademark infringement over their band name, but the two settled and have agreed on a cross-promotion deal.
  • Lisa and Jess are also the faces of Choice Calvin Klein and Australian hair product company nu:u.
  • The Veronicas have also written songs for other artists including t.A.T.u.'s "All About Us,"
  • and Australian Idol winners Casey Donovan's "What's Goin' On" and Kate DeAraugo's "Faded".
  • Before they decided to call themselves "The Veronicas" they were known as "Lisa and Jessica,"
  •  and later on as "The Teal".
  • They love Taco Bell and Krispy Kreme
